We understand every constraint, every design ambition, and every expectation that comes with placing a bespoke instrument aboard the world's most extraordinary vessels.
Bespoke Pleyel grand piano supplied by Arpège on board our client's 60-metre superyacht
The Challenge
A superyacht interior is one of the most demanding design environments in the world. Every element must be resolved to an extraordinary standard — and a grand piano is no exception. The instrument must integrate with materials, lighting and spatial proportions that have been considered down to the last millimetre, while meeting constraints that simply do not exist on land.
This is the work we specialise in. Our access to rare veneers, semi-precious stones, metals and decorative finishes — combined with our understanding of what a yacht interior demands — allows us to deliver an instrument that belongs in the space as completely as any other element of the design.
Yacht interiors use materials that most piano makers have never worked with — shagreen, carbon fibre, brushed bronze, micro-cement. We work with all of them. Our materials library exists precisely for this kind of commission.
A grand piano must sit correctly in a salon — visually, acoustically and structurally. We design and fabricate bespoke deck fixings for every commission: custom-engineered mounting brackets that secure the instrument to the vessel's deck structure, withstanding movement at sea while remaining completely invisible beneath the piano.
Humidity, salt air and vibration are realities of life at sea. We specify appropriate climate care systems and advise on maintenance schedules to protect the instrument — while being honest that a yacht piano requires more attentive care than one on land.
Our role is to serve the designer's vision.
Sometimes the piano is the centrepiece.
Sometimes it disappears into the room.
We deliver both with equal conviction.
For Studios & Designers
If you are a yacht interior studio specifying a piano for a new build or refit, we work the way your practice works — from GA drawings and render packages, on your timeline, in your deliverable format.
We can join the project at concept stage to advise on placement, acoustic treatment and structural requirements, or receive a completed brief and deliver to specification. Either way, the piano arrives as a fully resolved element of the interior scheme — not a last-minute addition.
What We Deliver
Self-Play Technology
A grand piano with self-playing technology is the only way to experience live acoustic music on board — performed by the instrument itself, at the touch of a button, at any hour, in any sea state. No musician required. No scheduling. No compromise on spontaneity.
As the superyacht world increasingly prioritises wellness, sensory design and curated experiences for guests, a self-playing piano becomes more than entertainment. It is an element of the onboard atmosphere — as considered as the lighting, the scent, or the art.
The technology is invisible. No visible sensors, no aftermarket retrofitting. The system is specified during the build and integrated as seamlessly as the veneer.

Your Commission
Every Arpège commission follows our seven-step process — from initial conversation through to aftercare. For yacht commissions, the following additional considerations are woven into that journey.
We review the general arrangement drawings with the studio, assess salon dimensions and hatch access, and confirm placement viability before any commitment.
Materials, finishes and hardware are selected to integrate with the interior scheme. We provide physical samples and 3D renders in the context of the salon design.
We liaise directly with the shipyard on installation logistics — crane access, hatch dimensions, structural support and delivery scheduling. Bespoke deck fixings are fabricated to match the vessel's deck structure.
A senior technician accompanies the instrument for on-board assembly, tuning and regulation. We commission the climate care system and brief the crew on maintenance.
